Since as long as she can remember Jacqueline has been a creative artist and has used art as a platform for communication, self-care, and expression. Jacqueline was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago. She attended Western Michigan University’s Gwen Frostic School of Fine Arts for her BFA, but quickly realized that the competitive art environment did not feel natural. Jacqueline knew there was another path to share her artistic skills and sought out the field of art therapy. She then went on to receive her Master’s in Art Therapy and Counseling at Adler University in Chicago.

Jacqueline is a board certified registered art therapist (ATR-BC), a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC), and an Art Therapy Certified Supervisor (ATCS). Within her private practice she provides therapeutic services to individuals and families. Jacqueline is certified in ADHD across the lifespan, and uses this knowledge to guide young adults who may be struggling professionally and academically with executive functioning skills. Jacqueline provides a safe space to unleash your creative potential and encourages art making as an effective way to discover solutions to life’s struggles.

Twist Out Cancer is a NPO that Jacqueline has been deeply passionate about and involved with since 2013. Jacqueline serves on the board, and is the director and creator of Twist Out Cancer’s signature Twistshop program. She is enthusiastic about bringing this unique program to the cancer community. Her goal as an art therapist is to provide a place to share, connect, and heal. She offers the community guidance in exploring different emotions that develop throughout their cancer experience. What typically transpires in a Twistshop, is an experience filled with art making, bonding, and camaraderie. To learn more about Twist Out Cancer and the Twistshop program, connect with Jacqueline via email, or check out the TOC website. www.twistoutcancer.org

Outside of her clinical work, Jacqueline continues to use art making as a form of self-care. She is creating original paintings, watercolors, and drawings from her home studio. Jacqueline engages with her work in a relaxed and curious way. Her work reflects her values of being present in the current moment and explores mindfulness based techniques.

*Jacqueline is currently not taking on new clients for therapy. If you are interested in other art therapy options, supervision, or hosting an art therapy group, please email Jacqueline directly. JCarmodyArtTherapy@gmail.com
